Integrating Godly Characteristics in to the IB Learner Profile
Galvanizing the student's souls is rather difficult in a content driven course; however the IBO identifies 10 expected school wide learning results that reflect positive student characteristics of a successful learner. These specific learner qualities are called IB Learner Profiles. The IB Learner Profiles are: Caring; Thinkers; Reflective; Balanced; Knowledgeable; Principled; Risktaker; Communicator; Open Minded; and Inquirer. A wonderful opportunity to integrate a Biblical Worldview into our classroom and even into content driven courses is to use these IB Learner Profiles as a Biblical learning outcome. The IB Learner Profile activity incorporates transdisciplinary transfer and underpins the Godly values emulated in the IBO program. Every year my students create their own IB Learner Profile posters which the school displays around our campus. Students love seeing their own pictures and ideas being posted up on campus. Material banners are also printed and the Biblical world view is clearly displayed.
